Jay Richardson - Highbury Fields

from Music For A Walk In London: Vol I by Music For A Walk

/

about

"Highbury Fields has such wonderful sounds and I wanted to write a piece that would accompany them. Maybe you'll hear crunching leaves or wind if you're there at changes of season, maybe cars from Highbury Corner, maybe dogs or kids or people playing tennis or netball in the summer. Whatever it is, please pay attention to what's sounding out around you as you listen to this piece and try to hold it all in your head as much as you can."

Jay Richardson is a multimedia artist based in Cambridge, UK. He is the first ever organ scholar at Union Chapel, just up the road from Highbury Fields. He also travels widely as a field recordist and composer, writing for artists as diverse as the RNCM Brass Band and the Philharmonia Orchestra. In his spare time he likes to experiment with out-of-focus video, visualise data, and hang out with his beloved dog.
